How the scoring works

Every mode feeds one shared total, so nothing you play is wasted. A correct answer is worth more on a harder question, and more again if you are on a streak (up to double). Endurance is the exception: it still adds points to your total, but the score you are actually chasing there is how long you lasted.

What is the AUS BONUS?

Any time Australia or Austria is the correct answer, in any mode, the whole screen celebrates and the points double. It only fires when it is genuinely the right answer — not when it is merely one of the options, and not if you pick it and are wrong.

Common questions

The daily puzzle won't let me play again.

That is deliberate — one puzzle a day, one attempt. Closing and reopening the app will not give you another go, because the puzzle is worked out from today's date rather than picked at random. A new one arrives after midnight.

Can I make it easier or harder?

Yes. Tap the sliders icon at the top of the Play screen. You can switch topics off and set a difficulty floor. It is a floor, not a ceiling — harder questions still turn up, and Endurance ignores it entirely and climbs anyway.

I switched off every topic and it still asks me about everything.

With nothing selected there would be no questions at all, so the app falls back to the full mix rather than showing you an empty game. Leave at least one topic on to actually narrow it down.

Why is Sort It not in Endurance?

By three minutes into an Endurance run there are less than four seconds on the clock per question, and dragging five things into order cannot be done in four seconds. Including it would have meant every run ended on a Sort It question through no fault of yours. Every other mode feeds in.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Every question ships inside the app. Once it has loaded once, it needs no connection ever again.

How do I delete my scores?

Clear the site data for this app in your browser settings, or delete the app from your phone. Everything is stored on the device, so that removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
